Meet the Wizard

We just finished a fascinating 10 hour session at Wizard Academy, in the Texas Hill country south west of Austin Texas.

Truly an educational and useful session, of which I will write more later. However, if you are looking to increase your response rates from advertising or to develop a campaign to drive business, this is the place to go and Roy H. Williams ('The Wizard') is the man to listen to.

A key learning point from the session was the 40 year cycle in consumer trends. This revealed that the old ways of reaching customers (for the last 60 years) have changed due to disruptive new technologies and how they affect communications. Suffice it to say that the Internet and email, Instant Messaging (IM), Cell phones, Short Message Service (SMS) and Weblogs (Blogs) have not only changed how people communicate, these tools (yes Tools) are changing how businesses need to market. This is especially true if your target consumer includes the rising generation of consumers.

If you do not change and adapt your approach to work with them, you will be left without them.

Sound serious? I think so. Hence this Blog.
